Invitation to Cross-Party Group on Small Shops Reception

The Welsh Cross-Party Group on Small Shops is hosting a Reception in the National Assembly for Wales to launch the Welsh Local Shop Report and ActSmart subscribers are invited.

17:30-19:30, Tuesday 31st January 2017
Oriel Room, Ty Hywel, National Assembly for Wales  

This event will allow retailers to meet their Assembly Members and hear from the Minister for Growth about what the Welsh Government is doing to support local shops.

Ken Skates AM, Cabinet Secretary for Economy and Infrastructure and Minister for Business, will deliver a keynote speech at the Reception and outline how the Welsh Government plans to support small shops to thrive.

Chairperson of the Cross-Party Group, Janet Finch-Saunders AM, will also speak at the Reception. The event will publish the Welsh Local Shop Report, which will provide an analysis of the convenience sector and be presented by James Lowman, ACS Chief Executive.

This event already has numerous AMs confirmed to attend and independent retailers are also welcome.

Ken is Cabinet Secretary for Economy and Infrastructure for the Welsh Government. He is the Minister responsible for the growth and development of business in Wales and entrepreneurship. He will outline how the Welsh Government will support small shops to thrive.
 
 
 

Janet Finch-Saunders AM 

Janet is Chair of the Cross-Party Group on Small Shops and Shadow Spokesperson for Local Government. She has founded a number of successful local businesses and is an advocate for entrepreneurship.

 
 
James Lowman
Chief Executive, Association of Convenience Stores     

James is Chief Executive of the Association of Convenience Stores, representing 33,500 local shops. He will provide an overview of the report and what its findings mean for retailers in Wales.

The event takes place in the Oriel Room, Ty Hywel, National Assembly for Wales between 17:30pm and 19:30pm on Tuesday 31st January.

This event is FREE to attend and drinks and canapes will be provided.
