How are small businesses planning to vote in May?

Posted on in Business News , Cycles News , Creative News, Outdoor News, Political News, Polls & Results

The general election is just 5 weeks away. As a small business how are you planning to vote in May?

The number of people starting up businesses is currently at record levels - more than half a million businesses were started last year. Small firms employ an estimated 11.4m, 47% of total UK private sector employment. They are the backbone of Britain and as such both the larger and smaller parties seem to recognise the importance of SMEs to the UK economy, and their role in creating jobs and wealth, and so look likely to put SME needs at the heart of their manifestos.

Parties will not be publishing their full manifestos until mid-April, but all the main parties appear to be focused on key areas which will impact on small business, including regulations, business support and business finances. You can stay up to date with the latest election and political news via the ActSmart Election Centre.

In the meantime, as a small business, how are you currently planning to vote in May? Let us know by taking part in our poll below.
