The ultimate guide to user testing

Posted on in Business News , Cycles News

Cytech TTT BIAHubspot provides great insight into user testing and how it can, in fact, improve user experience and reach your customers.

Virtually every business shares one goal, to put the customer first by meeting the specific needs of customers and solving their pain points.

There is one simple reason why people buy products and services, it is because they fulfil a need.

User testing is a great way to know if your products actually do meet your customers' needs and fulfil their expectations prior to putting them on the market. User testing saves a business time, money and resources all while helping you to create the product that is just right for your target audience.

User testing

User testing is the process of getting end users and customers to test and evaluate a product, feature or prototype.

Test subjects will use the item and identify the various pain points as well as attributes so that a business can enhance its user experience.

Why user test?

User testing is a great way to figure out just how the product or service works for your customer.

It's the best way to understand if your product falls short and how you can solve this before releasing it.

There are four common user testing methods.

Bike shops offer more than just products, they offer services including workshops, morning and evening bike rides, demo bike tests, events and so much more. These unique services can be user tested to investigate any pain points and solve them as well as to highlight attributes that can be marketed to the target audience to enhance the user experience.

Usability testing

This is when you give a real customer within your target audience the product, prototype or feature so they can assess and test its usability.

Key features to investigate are the ease of operation, usefulness and utility of a product.

Surveys

Surveys are a great form of user testing if you are looking to gather real, quantitative data from your customers.

A/B testing

This is when you separate your test subjects into different groups to test different versions of a product to determine their preferences. This helps to understand what version of a product or service best meets your customers' needs.

Focus groups

Focus groups are a great way to discuss the attributes of a product or service with a group of real users.

These four user testing methods are very generic in that they can be applied to anything including the cycles market.

Bike shops provide more than just products, they also provide services. In putting your customer first, a business should also understand what the user experience is and how it can be bettered.
