Raleigh turns best-selling bikes into limited edition Balance Bikes!

Posted on in Brands & Products News , Cycles News , Outdoor News by Raleigh UK Ltd

Raleigh UK have embarked on an exciting project to create a Burner Balance Bike and a Sherwood Balance Bike.

Based on two of the most successful bikes in Raleigh’s product history, the bikes will be replicated for mini fashionistas and budding bmx’ers to enjoy!

It's safe to say the Raleigh Burner is one of the most iconic bikes to hit the market. After its original release in 1982, it went on to win the world title at the 1985 BMX World Championships in Canada, ridden at the time by GB’s Craig Scholfield.

The Balance Bike version of the Burner will be created in alloy, ensuring the bike is lightweight for little riders and parents alike. It will feature a blue pad on the handle bars and BMX style grips alongside a black saddle, silver rails and clamp. The decal will be under a protective coating to ensure the iconic Burner graphics stay intact.

The Sherwood is Raleigh’s most popular and iconic Classic bike and the Balance Bike version is perfect for the mini-me in your life!
The Sherwood Balance Bike is a great way to get children started on their own Raleigh adventures. With its lightweight alloy frame and extremely cute wicker basket and bell included, its frame, styling and position perfectly mirror the adult’s range.

Alongside the basket, the Sherwood Balance Bike has brown grips and saddle, alloy silver rims, spokes and hubs, alongside cream tyres ensure the bike is incredibly stylish for little fashionistas. As with the Burner, the decals are under a protective coating to ensure the graphics stay intact.

A balance bike is an ideal first step for a child to learn how to ride without pedals. The child scoots along by sitting on the saddle and moving their feet backward and forwards, keeping either one foot or both feet on the ground at all times. They learn basic cycling skills; balance and coordination whilst having great fun and looking good.

The bikes are currently available to pre-order for trade accounts through the sales team until the end of February.

They will go on sale to the general public from October 2018.
