UK Hand Knitting launches Commit To Knit 2018

Posted on in Creative News

UK Hand Knitting (UKHKA) has announced the launch of Commit To Knit Month 2018, the campaign that encourages knitters and crocheters to make one item for charity.

There are at 6 million people who can knit or crochet in the UK. If each of them made one item for a charity this would mean a massive boost in items to sell to raise money and for charities to distribute to those in need for warm clothes and blankets in this country and abroad.

Last year crafters all over the country got involved. This year the event will take place throughout September and UK Hand Knitting is calling on knitting groups across the UK to get involved.

To celebrate Commit To Knit, the team at UK Hand Knitting has created 7 specially designed free patterns including blankets, mitts, a hat, Christmas stockings and a gorgeous teddy kindly donated by blogger Emma Varnam. The leaflet will be available as a free download from the UK Hand Knitting website from mid August.

All knitting groups that register with UK Hand Knitting will now also be entered into a monthly draw to win a pack of yarn from August. Groups can register by following this link.

Any charities who are looking for knitted or crocheted items are invited to get in touch by emailing info@ukhandknitting.com
