Retailers gets ready to share their Coronation windows

Posted on in Business News

Bromley in Kent is just one area in the UK where retailers and their customers are coming together to celebrate the Coronation on May 6th.

Residents there are being invited to nominate the local shop they feel has the best decorated window display in celebration of the King's Coronation. Businesses are being reminded to get their shop front displays in place well ahead of the Coronation, so that residents can send in their photo nominations by May 2nd.

The Mayor of Bromley will be judging the displays and will announce the winner at the start of the Coronation Bank Holiday. The winning shop will receive a £100 gift voucher. There is also another prize for the members of the public with the council awarding a £50 voucher for the best photograph submitted.

Councillor Yvonne Bear, Executive Councillor for Renewal, Recreation and Housing said: “I hope businesses will take this opportunity to contribute to the festive spirit in the borough and we will see many colourful and creative displays across all our parades and high streets.

“I would encourage residents to reward these efforts by nominating their favourite regal shop fronts – which may just land you with a chance to be celebrated as a photographer!”

And, regardless of where your shop is, bira is giving you the chance to download a Coronation weekend opening times poster and social media kit. So, whether you're open or closed over the course of the weekend of The Coronation, you can let your customers know ahead of time.
