Shimano welcomes press to exclusive e-bike event

Posted on in Cycles News

To help spread the word about the huge growth of e-bikes, one of the biggest brands in the industry - Shimano - held an exclusive event to offer an insight into what makes e-bikes great and why they're set to make it big this year.

Inviting a host of journalists from various fitness, lifestyle, technology and women's magazines alongside cycling publications, Shimano set out to grow consumer awareness of e-bikes with an exclusive Shimano STEPS press event. The event took place on 19th May at Pave Velo at the Olympic Village, London.

The event gave journalists a unique opportunity to learn more about the growth of e-bikes. A presentation from Shimano expert and Brand Manager Mark Greshon on STEPS e-bike technology and why e-bikes are going to be big in 2016 also highlighted how the brand new Cytech technical e-bike training will benefit the industry and cyclists by providing mechanics and retail staff with the knowledge they need to set-up, sell and service e-bikes.

As well as the opportunity to speak with e-bike experts, attendees were also invited to give the STEPS technology a try for themselves by taking them out for a test ride.

Suitable for those who are looking to stock and repair e-bikes, the Cytech technical e-bike course is available to those who already hold a Cytech technical two qualification or as a guide, 3-4 years industry knowledge.
