The most recent APPGCW Cycling & Walking showcase took place on the 11th February in Parliament.
The ACT attended the meeting to represent its members and learn how Parliament is working to improve the UK's cycling industry.
The APPGCW aims to use their role as Parliamentarians to promote all forms of cycling, whilst also working with representatives of organisations in the private, public, and third sectors that share this vision.
The meeting kicked off with speeches from Cycling and Walking Minister, Chris Heaton-Harris MP and Shadow Cycling and Walking Minister, Matt Rodda MP. The Cycling and Walking Minister outlined the aims of the APPGCW for 2020 and introduced their most recent manifesto, which can be found here.

Special guest Chris Boardman, MBE, was also in attendance, delivering a speech about the power that cycling and walking has to combat multiple problems faced by the UK and the rest of the world. Boardman also acknowledged the Prime Minister's efforts towards the cause and the progress that the government is currently making in "delycrafying" cycling.
Boardman outlined various climate and health issues currently faced by the UK, stating that "The country desperately needs to see a long-term transport culture change".
