Cytech e-bike training launches May

Posted on in Business News , Cycles News

Cytech has been delivering training and promotion of technical skills to the cycle trade and enthusiasts internationally for over 25 years and is now proud to be introducing the first industry recognised e-bike training course to the UK.

Industry experts predict that as many as one in three new bicycles sold in Europe could come with an electric motor by 2023. In 2015 Germany's combined sales of e-bikes surpassed the half-million mark for the first time in history, whilst the Netherlands leads the way with almost 1 in 3 new bikes sold now featuring electrics. The UK still has some catching up to do, but the e-bike trend is growing faster than ever before with many major suppliers and retailers now entering into the market.

Despite this, there is still a lot of hesitance from mechanics towards working on e-bikes.

To give the cycle trade the knowledge needed to cater for the booming e-bike market Cytech has introduced the brand new Technical e-bike course to provide the skills and confidence needed to set up, repair and sell a broad spectrum of electric bicycles along with an understanding of the specific standards and legal aspects that apply to them.

The new Cytech technical e-bike course will start being delivered from May 2016, with bookings now being taken.

The four-day course is currently only available from ATG Training in Aylesbury, UK. Cytech technical e-bike is a comprehensive course covering electrical theory, current legislation, safe working practices when dealing with batteries and electrical units, removal and installation of components, diagnosis, testing and fault finding of the components and much more.

The Cytech technical e-bike course is suitable for those who are looking to stock and repair e-bikes with little knowledge of service procedures or the legislation requirements that apply when selling, servicing and riding e-bikes. It is available to those who already hold a Cytech technical two qualification or as a guide, 3-4 years industry knowledge.

Upon completion of the course, candidates will attain a Cytech qualification, recognised internationally as the training and accreditation scheme for cycle technicians, owned by the UK cycle trade via the ACT.

Book a course

The four day Cytech technical e-bike course is currently only available at ATG Training. The first course is being delivered in Aylesbury from Monday 23rd - Thursday 26th May. With a limited number of spaces available and places going fast, visit cytech.training or contact ATG Training on 01296 674 995 to find out more and book your place on the course.

ACT members benefit from a 10% discount on all Cytech training.
