Job Description

Total Adventure Bike Hire is a busy cycle hire company based in Windermere, with a focus on further expansion for both the rental and retail aspects of our business.

We are looking for a confident and responsible person to join our small friendly team. If you enjoy building bikes, fixing bikes, riding bikes and  providing great service, then you could be the person we need! In return we offer a great job, working with good people, in a perfect environment to enjoy getting out and exploring on two wheels when the day’s work is done.

The role involves assisting the existing team in organising and looking after a fleet of up to 80 bikes, both electric and conventional, across three locations and taking pride in ensuring we offer a well maintained product delivered through safe customer experience. There will be a daily element of the role that will be office based, helping with emails, information on the website, and communicating with customers and suppliers.

Ideally you will hold a Cytech L2 qualification or have reasonable and relevant experience in a bicycle workshop, and that you are able to demonstrate this. Experience and knowledge of current electric bike systems particularly Bosch and Shimano is also required.

This is a seasonal role although there could be opportunities to extend the contract, or even make it a permanent position.

Skills/Experience Required

  • Previous bike shop experience, both workshop and customer facing is essential
  • Experience as a bike builder/mechanic, ideally with a Cytech L2 qualification
  • Enthusiasm for bikes, and cycling knowledge of the local area would be beneficial
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good IT skills
  • Friendly and professional manner and a strong team player
  • Flexible working attitude, particularly in our peak season when hours may be longer
  • Self motivation, a can-do attitude, and the ability to take the initiative are essential
