Job Description
At Mike Vaughan Cycles we’re more than just a specialist bike retailer, we are a group of passionate cyclists working together to build, supply and service bikes for our long standing customer base. Our independent bike store has been doing this since 1961 and we pride ourselves on fantastic customer service with a personnel touch – taking care of our customer’s bicycles as if they were our own. We’re a community of road, cross, mountain and downhill riders. We understand that cycling is a way of life and that our customers depend on us to keep them riding. The Job: Full Time Mechanic We are delighted to be recruiting for either an experienced and qualified mechanic, or a trainee mechanic who wants to learn with our support. Ideally we are looking for someone with previous bike retail experience and who has delivered previous excellent customer service – preferably in the bike industry, but not essential. Ideal candidates will also have a high degree of technical and mechanical knowledge as this role will involve building and repairing bikes. Having a Cytech qualification would be awesome but if not we can start you on your way to accreditation. What would at typical day with us look like? Our shop day can be incredibly varied, and no two days are ever quite the same! However, you can expect to: Repair and service road, mountain, hybrid bikes (both analogue and electric) to the highest standards. Use our Ascend EPOS system to capture and document all of your work (training will be given) Build new bikes for customers Perform pre-delivery inspections on customers’ new bikes. Maintain our excellent workshop standards. Build rapport with both workshop and store customers as you assist them in how best to service or upgrade their bikes, or indeed, guide a customer in purchasing a new bike during busier periods where the store team need some help. Research and resolve customer issues. Work with Specialized and Trek customer service teams to supply the best possible outcome for our customers. 40 hours a week from Tuesday to Saturdays (Closed Sundays and Mondays)
Skills/Experience Required
