Meeting cancelled: Funding for cycling & walking - what does the future hold?

UPDATE FROM APPGCW

The APPGCW meeting on the 30th March has now been cancelled due to Covid-19.

Further to this, the Parliamentary Bike Ride will also not take place in June, and is likely to be rescheduled to September - a date will be confirmed in due course.

The next meeting for the All Party Parliamentary Group for Cycling & Walking (APPGCW) will take place on Monday 30th March from 5pm to 6pm in the Wilson Room, Portcullis House.

Joe Irvin, CEO of Living Streets will give an update of funding for cycling and walking after the Budget was announced yesterday, and before the Spending Review. Information on ways in which the new budget will affect IBDs can be found here.

The APPGCW Parliamentary Monitoring updates for January, February and March are now available on the ACT website here. There were a significant number of contributions, with issues including - implementing local cycling and walking infrastructure plans, maximum penalty for causing death by dangerous driving + the Roads Policing Review, new standards for cycle infrastructure design, new road developments to take adequate account of cyclists and pedestrians.

Date for your diary: Parliamentary Bike Ride, Tuesday 9th June. More details will be announced soon.
