Benefit from cash boost and skilled new employees with a Cytech based Apprenticeship scheme

With current incentives and
funding grants in place employers taking on new
apprentices could receive up to £4,000 per
apprentice.
Training costs involved with apprenticeships are already heavily subsidised, with between 95% and 100% of the training costs being covered by Government
funding.
As well as the training costs being subsidised employers hiring apprenticeships are also enitled to various incentives to aid in the employment process.
Employers can receive £1,000 for hiring an apprentice:
- aged 16 to 18 years old
- under 25 with an education, health and care plan or has been in the care of their local authority
On top of this the government have announced further investments into apprenticeships including further incentives for employers.
In October 2021 the government further extended incentive payments, originally announced in July 2020 and then previously extended and increased in March 2021, made to employers in England who hire new apprentices, meaning that it has never been a better time to hire an apprentice.
Employers who hire a new apprentice between 1 April 2021 and 31 January 2022 will receive £3,000 per new hire (compared with £1,500-£2,000 under the original scheme), regardless of the age of the apprentice.
This is in addition to the existing £1,000 payment referred to above, meaning that employers could potentially receive up to £4,000 per apprentice.
Bike shops able to benefit from cash boost and skilled new employees
The extended and increased payments will have the potential to be both transformational for young people and employers alike.
Alongside a much-needed cash boost for bike shops and businesses, the scheme encourages employers to grow their own talent, creating some amazing opportunities for people to start a rewarding career within the cycling industry.
Activate Cycle Academy (ACA) deliver an 18-month apprenticeship in Bicycle Mechanics and is the only training provider to offer Cytech training as part of an apprenticeship. Cytech, managed by the ACT, is the internationally recognised training and accreditation scheme for bicycle technicians.
Cytech is at the heart of the training to ensure that all apprentices gain industry recognised qualifications when completing their apprenticeship. It includes the online Cytech Theory One and the Technical two and Technical three qualifications, as well as topics such as e-bikes, business studies, customer service and advanced selling skills resulting in a very experienced and highly skilled apprentice on completion of their training.
