New Christmas film highlights the importance of shopping indie

Posted on in Business News

A new Christmas film produced by Lanther Black has encompassed all that is important about shopping  independent this Christmas.

Lanther Black is an independent card shop based in Brentwood, Essex, that specialises in unique cards that "are not for everyone, they're for someone. And that makes all the difference." The two shop owners came together with other members of their community to create the video, this includes Objectables, Hermitage Rd. & Co., The Gift Shop Dumfries, Panda Cards, The Waverley (West Kirby) Ltd., Inspitalfields and Bijouled.

Lanther Black said about the video "When you shop with an independent retailer you support not only the retailer but also the artists, writers, designers, printers, manufacturers and a whole bunch of other people who work so hard to put wonderful and original products on the shelves. Here are a few of them in this little film we made."

The video was posted on the Lanther Black Facebook page last Tuesday and has since received nearly 1,000 shares. Comments on the post have been overwhelmingly positive, with people saying "What a fantastic, insightful, thought provoking and relevant video, huge thank you to both of you for bringing this important message to everyone", one viewer even saying about the film "incredible! You nailed it and it gave me goosebumps".

Today Lanther Black celebrate their fifth birthday since opening in 2014.
