Job Description
Recycle-a-bike is looking for an awesome individual with previous mechanic experience to join our small team of diverse cycleholics!
Who we are:
Recycle-a-bike is a not-for-profit cycle company that loves everything about bikes! We help support people that suffer with mental health illnesses to get them back into employment through the cycle industry. We do this by training and mentoring volunteers in our community on basic bike mechanics.
Whilst doing this, we sell refurbished used bikes back into the community (reducing landfill), provide a mechanics service to the general public and have a shop that sells new bikes and accessories. Some of our brands that we sell include Kona, Tern, Cinelli and Frog.
The location:
This role will require someone that has the flexibility to work across 2 separate locations; one shop is based in Uxbridge (North-West London) the other in Central London (New Oxford Street).
The role:
- Servicing and repairing all manner of cycles.
- Dealing with customer queries and offering technical support on the phone.
- Refurbishing a diverse mix of classic used bikes for resale.
- Assisting customers on the shop floor with sales advice face-to-face.
- Assisting with general shop running, including opening and closing procedures.
Skills/Experience Required
Requirements:
- Cytech Level 2
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
- Strong customer service skills with experience of working with people of all walks of life
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Chrome based IT systems
