What is the the National Emergencies Trust?

The National Emergencies Trust (NET) collaborate with charities and other bodies to raise and distribute money and support victims at the time of a domestic disaster.

The NET has launched a fundraising appeal to help those most affected by the recent coronavirus outbreak. The trust places an emphasis on the suffering being caused by the pandemic not just physically due to ill health, but also economically and socially: the workers that are struggling to make ends meet, the small, local businesses that are closing their doors, and the most vulnerable self-isolating people unable to see their loved ones.

Why are ActSmart raising funds for the National Emergencies Trust?

So far the NET have supported people throughout COVID-19 by distributing money to domestic abuse support charities, delivering care packages to self-isolating people and organising volunteers to support the most vulnerable people in our communities.

Many of our members may already be aware of the NET as they have previously supported communities and businesses throughout the recent floods occurring earlier this year and in the latter half of 2019.

As a national trust supporting local businesses in local communities, we believe that the NET is highly relevant to AstSmart members across the UK and will ensure that all of your donations are delivered to those that need it the most.

More information about the NET and where your money will be going can be found in the video below.
