BBC - Retail Help Wanted
Posted on 28 Jun 2010
BBC are on the hunt for new retail talent.
BBC development has been in contact with ActSmart seeking presenters or experts to front new ideas programmes with a retail guru at the top of the head hunting list.
Following the phenomenal success of the Mary Portas 'Mary Queen of Shops' series the BBC want to identify characters renowned in a sector for having a real talent in turning around the fortune of retail businesses, providing them with a new lease of life.
The BBC don't necessarily want high profile characters such as Sir Phillip Green, but need to find a talent with a real presence, with something defining about their personality that makes them stand out from your common or garden guru.
Character is defined as more important than any specific area of expertise, background or accolades, but proven skills are essential.
The team at ActSmart think it's a great opportunity to identify a character from the leisure/sports/home sector for a change, someone who can and does influence our business communities.
If any reader, whether an ActSmart subscriber or not, has any ideas please contact Mark Walmsley or add details in the comments box below.
