Small Business Saturday returns for third year

Posted on in Business News

Small Business Saturday is returning to the UK for its third year on 5 December 2015.

The campaign was introduced in 2013 to celebrate the quality and diversity of the UK's independent businesses, following its huge success in the US.

Last year 16.5m people spent £504m in small businesses on the day, providing a significant boost to the economy and their local area.

To help small businesses attract customers in the lead-up to Christmas, campaign sponsor American Express is offering a range of benefits to consumers.

  • American Express Cardholders will receive £5 credit every time they spend £10 or more with their registered Card at participating small businesses from 5-20 December.
  • Shop Small map so customers know where to find participating businesses, available at: https://maps.americanexpress.com/ukshopsmall
  • A national advertising campaign celebrating the ‘Heroes of our high streets'
  • Free of charge American Express Ad Creator tool gives small businesses the opportunity to create personalised digital advertising to increase their online visibility. American Express will promote the finished adverts online to potential customers in their local area.
