‘Black Friday ‘Cyber Monday' and now ‘Sofa Sunday' are predicted to give retailers a boost, with the UK adopting the American retail tradition for pre-Christmas sales.
Whilst Black Friday has traditionally been the day for consumers to bag the best deals, Sofa Sunday and Cyber Monday are quickly emerging as the biggest days for online retailers to make sales.
With many national chains having reported their biggest day for pre-Christmas online sales falling on the last Sunday of November last year, retailers are expected to focus on e-commerce and drive consumers to purchase online on November 30th.
Sales are expected to peak late in the evening, between 9 and 11pm.
During the festive period online sales are expected to be worth at least £13 billion, suggesting e-commerce is not an area retailers can afford to miss.
