Developing a digital strategy to drive sales - learn more at CHSI

Get the digital skills you need to achieve your full potential as a retail business.

Adam Worley, from The Association of Town Centre Management will be speaking at this Autumn's Craft, Hobby + Stitch seminar stage on Monday 22nd September. You are invited to attend the seminar in order to gain an insight into the national Digital High Street skills programme, which delivers small businesses the digital skills they need to achieve their full potential.

Attend the seminar at 1pm to find out more about creating a digital strategy for your business, including: the benefits of a web presence and selecting the most appropriate digital channels; getting your business online and growing your business through social media.

What is the Digital High Street Skills strategy?

Digital High Street Skills is a brand new, tailor-made suite of training programmes specifically designed for small businesses. The programme will help you develop your knowledge of the internet, social media and understanding the benefits of getting your business online.

From developing a website to using email marketing and social media, the Digital High Street Skills programme will equip you and your business with the confidence, the tools and the digital skills you need to take your business to the next level.

Digital High Street Skills is a National Skills Academy for Retail (NSAR) programme, developed and delivered in partnership with the Association of Town and City Management (ATCM).

Adam Worley has been a Town Centre Manager within Epsom, previously working in a Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) supporting Town Centre Growth and national strategy in the form of a report developed in partnership with the ATCM.

Adam has been responsible for developing and securing European funding, Strategic Planning, Place Development and Branding, as well as delivering Business Support programmes within localities he has worked.

Having worked within retail for over ten years in both 'bricks and mortar stores' as well as online ventures he is adept at understanding customers decision making, partnership engagement and developing relationships with customers. Adam within his role as Town Centre Manager has been responsible for empowering local groups and creating a business voice within the Council.

This seminar will focus on emerging copyright and trademark issues, with particular emphasis on topics that are encountered in the practice of IP law.

13.00: PROMOTING AN ARTS AND CRAFTS RETAIL SITE VIA THE INTERNET AND SOCIAL MEDIA

With Chris Woods from AME Solutions

This seminar will give an overview on how to maximise promotion of an arts and crafts business via Google tools, search engines, email marketing and social media. This will mention venue location marketing tools, like Google Places, as well.

14.15: KNIT FOR HEALTH AND WELLNESS

Betsan Corkhill will guide you through the science behind the art of knitting and how Therapeutic Knitting is increasingly being used as a tool to improve health and wellbeing for everyone.

With many people now using smartphones, iPhones/Androids and tablet devices, like iPad, it's being predicted this will eventually overtake using desktops and laptops for Internet usage, if not already for some retail businesses.
