Posted on in Cycles News
Richard Schofield, Managing Director of Cycles UK is raising money for the British Triathlon trust.
The British Triathlon is a new charity that aims to get children from all walks of life and all physical abilities - many who have never swam or ridden a bike - exercising by swimming , cycling and running.
The trust aims to use the engaging sport of triathlon to encourage children to become more active, not only improving their health, but also developing their social skills, increasing self esteem and nurturing good habits such as commitment, discipline and respect. Over 11,500 'active days' were delivered in 2013 and over 13,500 have been delivered in 2014 so far.
To help raise awareness and funds for the charity, Richard will be taking part in a triathlon this October, after 15 months of training for it!
The event will include a 2.4mile swim , 112 miles cycling followed by a marathon 26 mile run, with all money raised going to the trust.
