SME employees seek more training opportunities

Nine in ten UK professionals would be less likely to seek new employment if their current employer offered them training and development, says study.
CV-Library conducted the survey of 2,300 people to establish how the country's professionals feel about training and development opportunities available to them at work.
Key findings from the report were:
93% admit to feeling more valued when an employer offers development opportunities.
Those most satisfied with training and progression opportunities at work are social workers, medical professionals and those that work in customer services.
More than two thirds of professionals would take a lower salary in return for sponsorship of a recognised qualification from their employer.
70% would even fund their own learning if it meant landing their dream job.
73% of UK workers are disappointed with the training opportunities available to them at work, with only 27% per cent feeling satisfied.
88% of professionals believe training is essential to stay ahead of technology advancements and sector changes.
However, 43% reveal that their employers don't provide basic training to enable this.
The vast majority (94%) of UK professionals believe adult learning needs to be increased and improved, with 93% feeling the government should be making further efforts to subsidise adult learning.
Training your staff
From the introductory Technical one to the advanced Technical three, there is a Cytech training course designed for every member of the cycle trade.
Cytech Technical one is the foundation of all the Cytech Technical courses and ensures candidates develop core competencies in skills fundamental to professional cycle maintenance. Technical one is intended to be the minimum standard to which all mechanics should work and includes a theory and practical training element.
Cytech Technical two is the trade standard for any professional cycle mechanic. It includes training of 10 days including all the skills to service and maintain cycles and build wheels to a high standard. It will also equip you with the knowledge and skills to work safely and efficiently as a professional mechanic. The course is certificated by Cytech and EAL and includes training, assessment and knowledge checks throughout the course.
Cytech Technical three represents the pinnacle of technical proficiency. This level can be attained only by experienced cycle technicians with a full understanding of the advanced engineering behind high-end, performance cycles. Technical three is taught on a modular basis, and technicians who are qualified to this level are able to install and calibrate top-level electronic groupsets, service complex suspension systems and hydraulic brakes as well as building high-performance, lightweight and robust wheelsets which are specific to purpose.
