Changes to the way you access legal advice

Posted on in Business News , Cycles News , Creative News, Outdoor News

The legal helpline has been one of ActSmart's key services for many years, helping subscribers get access to the guidance they need 24/7. The way subscribers access the helpline is now changing, to help keep the ActSmart services exclusive to subscibers.

In 2013, 38% of small businesses experienced a ‘significant' legal problem with nearly half of these problems resulting in a negative financial impact on the business, according to a study by the Legal Services Board.

The average cost of each problem was £6,700, meaning an overall cost of £100 billion to UK business!
The figures above highlight the need for businesses to have access to a trustworthy source of information when faced with a legal issue. Thanks to ActSmart's partnership with legal experts DAS, subscribers can access 24 hour UK based helplines, covering the following subjects:

  • Commercial & Legal Advice
  • Human Resources
  • Health & Safety
  • Tax Advice
  • Assistance in the event of business emergency (fire, flood etc)
  • Confidential counselling for owners, their staff and immediate family members

Unlike many other legal and business support helplines, ActSmart offer subscribers 24 hour, unlimited access to DAS business support.

ActSmart subscribers take great comfort in knowing they have access to, should they ever need it.

"Whenever I need some legal advice such as if I have to make an important HR related decision, I consult the helpline first. This free, on hand legal advice would cost a fortune if sought elsewhere. The legal helpline is worth the subscription fee on its own." Andy Shrimpton, Managing Director, Cycle Heaven Ltd

In order to ensure that this key service remains an exclusive benefit to ActSmart subscribers, the way you access the service is changing.

From 1st December the current ActSmart Policy Number that you quote to DAS will no longer grant you access to the service. Instead a password will be available to see in the My Details section of your My ActSmart account. If you have forgotten your log in details click here or contact us.

Not currently an ActSmart subscriber?

The helpline is a standard feature of Silver, Gold and Platinum subscription, which means from just £120 per annum you can rest assured that you have somewhere to turn in the event of a legal issue. You will also benefit from a range of other benefits with your subscription. Click here to view the full list of service available.
